What was the best piece of advice that you were given about raising your twins? Mine was to get them on a schedule and stick with it. I make certain to share that with all soon-to-be parents of twins.
If your little ones no longer like to be swaddled (like this little guy) there are still many ways to use all of those swaddle blankets that you received as gifts. They are great for holding your babies in your arms, a soft spot to lay your babies on for tummy tie and a terrific sun shield to drape over your stroller’s canopy during walks.
When interviewing pediatricians, check to see if they have a “well visit” waiting room and a “sick visit” waiting room. You don’t want your newborns to be exposed to the toddler who is coughing and sneezing. If there aren’t two separate waiting rooms, ask to be taken to an examination room as soon as you arrive with your little ones.
If you are buying a crib that transitions into a toddler bed, like this beautiful one from Stokke, make certain you purchase the conversion kit at the same time you purchase the crib. Models are often discontinued- you don’t want to find yourself having to go out and buy another bed. On a separate note…isn’t this nursery fabulous?!!
Save your money on multiple swings and activity mats…invest in 2 bouncy seats, like the one above from fisher price http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/search/index.html?Ntt=bouncy%20seats. Your twinnies can eat in the seats, play in the seats and you can get a break while they are in the seats!!! Are you getting the sense that I am all about the bouncy seats??!! They were a life saver when Jake and Rachel were little. Happy Bouncing!!!
A microwave sterlizer, like the one above from Dr. Browns, is not only a super effective way to sterilize everything from bottles to pacifiers, it is also simple to use-pop in bottles, add water, microwave for a few minutes…voila’!! A great way to make your very busy twin life simple.
Line the top of your diaper changing pad with chux liners from https://www.amazon.com
When changing your twinnies gets messy (which it will), you can just throw this away- leaving your pad as good as new!
